Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Design Technician specialising in the design and production of custom IoT hardware enclosures using advanced 3D printing technologies. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in design and engineering with practical skills in prototyping and collaboration to deliver high-quality enclosures tailored to client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and produce custom IoT hardware enclosures using advanced 3D printing technologies.
- Create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and prototypes to meet engineering and client specifications.
- Utilise CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Photoshop to develop precise and functional designs.
- Perform FEM analysis to ensure the structural integrity and performance of designs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, suppliers, and production staff to ensure seamless design and manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and part lists.
- Ensure adherence to engineering principles, design standards, and project timelines.
Required Skills:
- Strong technical drawing and design skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FEM Analysis, and Photoshop.
- A solid understanding of engineering principles and design standards.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with teams and suppliers.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in design support or drafting roles within the IoT domain.
- Proven experience in creating 3D models, 3D printing, prototyping, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with technical documentation processes, including BOMs and part lists.
Qualifications:
- An associate’s degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field (a bachelor’s degree is preferred).
- Certification in CAD software or design tools is advantageous but not essential.
- A strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards.
Pay: £37,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
